Costa Rica field study 2009: a trip of a lifetime

From Jan. 12 to Jan. 25, a group of 15 FDU students studied abroad in Costa Rica. The Management 2828 course, “Field Study of Business, Culture and Global Learning,” gave students an opportunity to learn about the Costa Rican culture as well as interact with local communities.

Among many other activities, the students participated in white-water rafting, rainforest hikes, dolphin watching, interviewing local business owners, meeting indigenous tribes, learning about biodiversity and sustainability, and visiting local organic farms.

The first three days were spent in San Jose, then students traveled to Manzanillo on the Caribbean Coast for a week, followed by a short stay at Earth University and back to San Jose.
